Privacy Policy

Personal data reaches DrillingFluidAdditives.com through two request forms, the supplier quote request and the service match request, through the contact form and through email to editorial@drillingfluidadditives.com. The site runs no analytics service and no advertising service.

The site sells no product. This policy follows the order of the page: what each form collects, what each request is used for, where requests go, how long data is kept (24 months), and how to see, correct or delete it.

Standards and regulations are checked against their issuing bodies, product values against the named data sheet and figures against the dated source named in the sentence; see our methodology and fact-checking.

Which Forms Collect Personal Data on This Site?#

Three forms collect personal data on DrillingFluidAdditives.com, the supplier quote request, the service match request and the contact form, and Table 1 lists the fields of each.

Form Block and pages Fields Used for Leaves the editorial team? Kept for
Supplier quote request "Request supplier quotes" on material pages, additive class pages, the additives root, fluid system pages and the suppliers page Material and grade (API 13A grade where it applies), quantity and unit (sacks, t, bbl), packaging, delivery country and port or site, required documents (CoA, SDS, API Monogram where relevant), company email Sending one specification to independent suppliers Yes, to independent suppliers of drilling fluid materials 24 months

Contact form The contact page Email, optional name, topic, optional page URL, value as published and correct value with source (error reports), message Answering the message and handling corrections No, it stays with the editorial team 24 months

Table 1. Forms that collect personal data. Requests are forwarded to independent suppliers and service providers. No company pays to be listed or ranked here.

Each request form asks for a company email, not a private one. Neither request form promises a response time or a number of quotes, and neither names a company. The supplier quote block sits on material pages, additive class pages and supplier pages, while the service match block sits on application, problem and service pages, so the form you see depends on the page you are reading.

What Is Each Request Used For?#

Each submission is used for the one purpose its form names, and the three purposes are listed below.

  • Supplier quote requests: passed on so independent suppliers of drilling fluid materials can answer the specification.
  • Service match requests: passed on so independent drilling-fluid service providers can respond to the well or bore described.
  • Contact form messages and emails to the editorial team: used to answer the message and to handle corrections.

Where Do Supplier Quote Requests and Service Match Requests Go?#

Supplier quote requests go to independent suppliers of drilling fluid materials, and service match requests go to independent drilling-fluid service providers; these two forms are the only submissions that leave the editorial team.

Every request form carries the same disclosure, repeated here word for word: "Requests are forwarded to independent suppliers and service providers. No company pays to be listed or ranked here; see the editorial policy."

This page names no recipient, and no company is presented as a sponsor or ranked above another. The fields in Table 1 are what a recipient receives with a request.

Which Messages Stay with the Editorial Team?#

Contact form messages and emails to editorial@drillingfluidadditives.com stay with the editorial team and are never forwarded to suppliers or service providers. Corrections and questions arrive by email and are handled by the editorial team, which answers the message and updates the affected page where a correction applies. An email address sent to the editorial team is used for nothing but answering that message and the correction it reports.

Does This Site Use Analytics or Advertising?#

No: DrillingFluidAdditives.com uses no analytics service and no advertising service, so no analytics or advertising vendor receives data about your visit from this site. The site is funded by forwarding the quote and service requests readers send, not by selling advertising space.

Outbound links lead to standards bodies, regulators, journals and supplier data sheets, and each of those sites applies its own privacy terms once you follow the link.

How Long Is Submitted Data Kept?#

DrillingFluidAdditives.com keeps form data for 24 months.

The 24 months apply to supplier quote requests, service match requests and contact form messages held by the site, and the period is the same for all three forms. Form submissions are stored in a database operated by Cloudflare, which hosts the site and delivers its pages; Cloudflare is the only processor of form data. The period is listed in the last column of Table 1 so that each form states its own retention. After 24 months a request is deleted from the site's records.

How to Ask the Editorial Team to See, Correct or Delete Your Data#

Email editorial@drillingfluidadditives.com to see, correct or delete the data you submitted through any form on this site. Three steps make the request easy to match to your submission.

  1. Write from the address used in the form.
  2. Name the form and, for a request, the material or the well or bore it described.
  3. State whether you want a copy, a correction or deletion.

The editorial team reads these emails at the same address that serves every other question about the site. The contact page lists that address, so you can reach the editorial team there too.

Data sent by email#

An email to editorial@drillingfluidadditives.com is answered from the same address and is not added to any mailing list.

Changes to This Privacy Policy#

This privacy policy carries a last-updated date under its title, and that date changes whenever a form, a recipient group or a retention period changes.

The same disclosure and independence wording appears under every request form and in the editorial policy, so this page and those blocks never disagree. A reader who submitted data before a change can still use the steps above to see, correct or delete it.
